  Leolaia perhaps you can clear this up for me. I reading from some sources that Enoch 1:9 isn't in any of the Aramaic or Greek fragments and I'm reading from some that it is. Do you have any information that would clear this up?

  Difference between "raised in the truth" and "converts" that are now X-JWs.

  i am noticing a difference..... "raised in's" seem to be a little more relaxed and better suited for their world after the kh.

  "converts" seem to be a little disoriented.

  maybe b/c they saw the truth as away out of this crazy world only to be massive dissapointed.

  I totally disagree with this statement. I don't see how someone who was raised in the organization their whole lives can be more suited for the world than a convert who spent more time in the world than in the organization.

  Just wondering as a convert, what was the most appealing aspect of "the truth" when you decided to join?

  The most appealing aspect for me was being around people who lived a clean life. Before I became a witness I didn't drink, smoke, have sex, watch movies,etc. Also the fact that they followed the Bible only(or so I though) was also very appealing. I started studying when I was 20, I was baptized at 21 and faded out 5 months later so it was pretty easy for me to adjust to no longer being a witness after only being in the organization for a year and a half.

  the jws are correct in their opposition concerning the xmas holiday and that there is evidence both scriptural and ancedotal that jesus was not born in the dead of winter on dec. 25.. but what i don't get is why do they go along with a crucifixion memorial which coincides with the time of moses passover?

  is there any real proof that jesus was crucified at this particular time period?.

  yeah, i know about the legend that passover was "foreshadowing" the ultimate sacrifice of the lamb.....but this is contrived information.. where is the proof that jesus was crucified at passover?

  It is just the date they picked, and that is OK with them.

  That's not exactly true. The catholics didn't just pick that date, they stole it from an ancient pagan religion but that's a conversation for another thread.

  That book is full of nonsenses and idiocy absurdities. I translated whole Book of Enoch, and believe me, there is nothing vlauable in it.

  You know Aramaic? I get the feeling you're referring to the fake Slavic Book Of Enoch and not the one from the dead sea scrolls.

  P.S. Jude really doesn't quote from The Book of Enoch

  Enoch 1:9 And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones. To execute judgment upon all, and to destroy all the ungodly; And to convict all flesh of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

  Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

  Unless Jude spoke to Enoch face to face, he has to be quoting from the Book Of Enoch.

  in the book, thy kingdom come 1898 is an entire chapter on the restoration of israel.

  they were expecting physical israel to be restored.

  Israel was never restored. Non of the people who live in Palestine today are descendants from the Israelites of the Bible and are foreigners from Europe. Most of those Europeans in Palestine don't even believe in the God of the Bible. I don't see how you can say a nation was restored when it's occupied by foreigners.

  It should be noted that none of this information is found in the Book Of Enoch that is among the dead sea scrolls and is only contained in later copies in other languages.

  Uh,ok. Apparently I'm the only one who don't understand this argument so I'm going to request you explain this statement because I don't get it.
